| Notes | We head north out of Carlingford village ( Map OSI Sheet 36) to join the Cadger’s Pad. We loop back through the forest to join the Red Trail Barnavave Loop (southern portion). Tarmac roads, grassy tracks, forest tracks and mountain paths lead to summit of Barnavave passing through the deserted village on the descent. There is a steep ascent through the forest early in the walk to where we join the Red Trail. I would consider this hillwalk to be easy apart from the first ascent. |
