Leader’s Note: We start the walk at Tribradden Wood car park crossing over the R116 to Cruagh Wood taking the DMW trail through the woods.  We take the boardwalk up through the woods taking us on sheep tracks to Cruagh summit.  Then we descent on boggy and wet uneven ground towards the forest edge to a track. We make our way along the edge of the forest and meet up with the R115.  We make our way along the R115 for 750m and go through the beautiful Featherbed Forest to make our ascent to Piperstown Hill which is wet uneven ground in parts.  We retrace our route back to the R115, walk along Old Military Road, passing the viewpoint and into another entrance to Cruagh Wood and back to the Tribradden Wood car park.  This walk has lots of variety and on a clear day the views over Dublin and Howth are spectacular.   *Due to no car-pooling, car parks are busier, this is why we are meeting earlier than would be usual.

It is important to note that parts of the hill walk are on uneven wet boggy ground and gaiters and hiking poles are recommended.
