Hill Walk Tibradden/ Fairy Castle

Grade: Moderate Hill Walk
Distance 13km approx.
Duration: 4 – 4.5 hours approx. (including breaks) depending on group and weather

Leader’s Note: There is limited space at the car park, hence the early start. If you are comfortable car pooling, please do so.
We start in Tibradden Wood, Pine Forest, initially along forest tracks, including a new path which was built very recently by Dublin Wicklow Mountain Meitheal. We will join the Dublin Mountain Way before heading up to the prehistoric Cairn which marks the summit of Tibradden (470m). We will continue on the Dublin Mountain Way and Wicklow Way to the Bronze Age Passage Tomb at Fairy Castle on the summit of Two Rock Mountain (537m). Then the walk will head to the masts beside Three Rock, where, weather permitting, we will get great views, over Dublin City and Bay. We’ll loop back through Ticknock Forest, Tibradden and Pine Forest.
Directions from Skerries: Allow 50 – 55 minutes from Skerries. Take M50 Southbound, exit at J12 take left lane up ramp (signposted Scholarstown Ballyboden R113). At top of ramp turn left onto Scholarstown Road. Go straight through first roundabout (2nd exit) staying on Scholarstown Road R113. Go straight through 2nd roundabout (2nd exit) staying on R113. At 3rd Roundabout, take 3rd exit onto R115 (R116) signposted Woodtown. Continue on this road for approximately 4.6km and take a sharp left turn for Kilternan/Glencullen, Tibradden car park is on the left. Or follow this link HERE
