Route: Lovely loop walk starting off along the Cliff Path from the East Pier around as far as the Baily Lighthouse, then back via the Summit and Ben of Howth to the Bog of Frogs and over Muck Rock down to Deerpark and return to the West Pier.

Duration: 3.5 hrs.+ 1 hr. approx. Baily Lighthouse tour
This is an EASY HILLWALK – NOT a RAMBLE
Leader’s Note:
This is a lovely variation of the usual loop Cliff Walk that we do – starting off along the Cliff Path from the East Pier as far as the Baily Lightouse, then returning following the lighthouse tour via the Summit – a short distance from where we will visit the restored WW2 ‘Eire 6’ neutrality sign (one of 83 aerial recognition signs built around the Irish coast during the Second World War to alert aircraft that they were approaching neutral Irish territory). Then over by the Ben of Howth to the Bog of Frogs and over Muck Rock down to Deerpark and return to the West Pier.
We will have a visit of the Baily Lighthouse at 11.30 a.m. kindly organised through the Commissioners of Irish Lights (€5 cash per person donation). However there is a max. of 12 allowed on the visit for space limitation reasons. So it will be first come, first served and all must sign a Lighthouse Visit Indemnity Form on the day. Bring a sandwich for ‘pit stop’ at the Summit. Refreshments at the end of the walk in the Bloody Stream for those who wish to relax a while after it.
