Ramble Boyne River Walk Stackallen Bridge

Walk: Boyne Ramparts, Navan to Stackallen Bridge return
Meeting Point: Ramparts Canal and River Boyne Carpark, Navan, Co Meath.
There is paid parking in the carpark. Coins only. Please bring €1 and €2 coins. The parking machine does not accept credit cards.
Meeting Time: 10.00am
Walk Start Time: 10.15am
Route: We will leave the carpark and walk along the towpath in between the canal and River Boyne. We will pass some old locks and bridges. It is 6.5km to Stackallen Bridge. We then will return on the same path. This is an easy walk on hard core path as well as footpath.
Distance: approx. 13km
Height: Riverside Walk approx. height gain 50m
Duration: 3.5 hours including breaks

General:
Leave No Trace: the club is a supporter of the Leave No Trace campaign so please ensure that you leave no litter (of any sort) on the hike route
Clothing/Equipment: please ensure that, at the very least, you have either hiking boots or walking shoes (no trainers) and depending on weather forecast, multiple layers including a hot drink, food, snacks and water.
