Distance: approx. 11.5km
Height : Riverside Walk approx height gain 50m
Duration: 4.5 hours including breaks
Please Text the leader by night before if you intend going on the walk
Leader’s Note: It will be very mucky, you will need poles ,and boots. You may also need to be hosed down after the walk and will definitely need a change of clothes.
I reserve the right for safety or weather reasons to adjust the route on the day
Last year Ethna McQuillan entertained us with Ann Laird . In 2022 Claire Cunningham sang a wonderful song. Both years Claire Allcutt baked a cake and Fidelma Carroll taught us how to make a St Brigid’s Day Cross . I welcome others who can share a song or a poetry reading on the banks of the Boyne.

General:
Leave No Trace: the club is a supporter of the Leave No Trace campaign so please ensure that you leave no litter (of any sort) on the hike route
Clothing/Equipment: please ensure that, at the very least, you have either hiking boots or walking shoes (no trainers) and depending on weather forecast, multiple layers including a warm jacket/ fleece, hat and gloves, a waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers, a flask with a hot drink, food, snacks and water.
