Ramble Gormanstown/ Laytown

Walk: Laytown/Gormanstown

Meeting Point: River Nanny Car Park HERE  two minute walk from Laytown Train Station

Meeting Time:  9.45am (Train leaves Skerries 9.24 am – driving time from Skerries approx. 25 minutes).

Walk Starting Time: 10 am   

Route: Gentle ramble along quiet country roads and beach.

Distance: 10km 

Duration: 2 ½ to 3 hours (including stops)  

Further Information: This is a 10km easy RAMBLE, not a hillwalk. 

Leader’s Note:

This is a gentle ramble. We start by crossing the foot bridge over the River Nanny, then quiet country roads, passing Mosney, Gormanstown Camp then onto the beach (depending on high tide times) for the return journey back to Laytown.  Weather permitting we will get a different view of Skerries Islands and Rockabill lighthouse, along with views of the Clogher Head and the Mourne Mountains.
