Ramble Harbour to Harbour Howth/ Dun Laoghaire

Howth to Dun Laoghaire …Harbour to Harbour Walk

Walk:  Super Ramble

Meeting Point: Howth  Dart Station: 

Meeting Time: 9.15am

Walk Start Time: 9.30 am

Route: Walking th Coast Road from Howth we reach  Clontarf Dart Station after 3 hrs at approx 12.30  if anyone wants to leave at Clontarf there is a frequent train back to Skerries Station. You are also welcome to join us here 

After 15mins for Lunch on the Eastlink Bridge

Continue to Sandymount, Booterstown, Blackrock, arriving in Dun Laoghaire at approx 15.30

Distance: approx. 26 KM, Height: No Ascent all at sea level .

Duration:   6 hours including breaks

Leader’s Note: Never mind the length, there are lots of Dart Stations on the route if you wish to drop out or go ahead.  Think of it as a safety net. This is the AWARE walk from St Patricks Day.

Directions from Skerries: Train from Skerries @ 8.21 arrives Howth Junction at 8.46 ,Departs  8.58 and arrives Howth 9.09.

What’sApp ::for ease of communication a Whats App group will be set up for the group coming on this walk. If you do not wish to be included please let the leader know when registering your interest in the walk. 

General:

Leave No Trace: the club is a supporter of the Leave No Trace campaign so please ensure that you leave no litter (of any sort) on the hike route

Clothing/Equipment: please ensure that, at the very least, you have either hiking boots or walking shoes (no trainers) and depending on weather forecast, multiple layers including a warm jacket/ fleece, hat and gloves, a waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers, a flask with a hot drink, food, snacks and water. 

 If unsure about the required gear or your ability to undertake the walk please check with the walk leader in advance.
