Leader’s Note: This is Skerries Walking Club’s first year to participate in the National

help clean up our local area.
Please Text Emer by Friday 22nd April 11am if you intend going on the Clean
Up walk. Bags, gloves and sanitiser will be provided. A limited number of litter pickers and
Hi-Viz vests will be available. Please let the leader know when registering if you have your
own litter picker. If you’d like to go for a coffee on the harbour afterwards, please bring a
reusable cup. One name will be drawn from the list registered to receive a free reusable
cup on the day.
An Taisce National Spring Clean is Ireland’s most popular, well recognized and successful
anti-litter initiative. Taking place during the whole month of April and now in its 21st year,
the campaign encourages every sector of society to actively participate and take
responsibility for litter, by conducting clean ups in their own local environment.
Clothing/Equipment: wear comfortable shoes and clothes, waterproof if possible. Bring
gloves, sanitiser, and litter pickers if available. We will have a limited supply to share on the
day.
Covid-19 related: Walkers are advised that they will be asked to confirm that they have no
Covid-19 like symptoms and agree to walk at their own risk. The organisers cannot accept any
liability in the event of injury/Covid-19 infection
Leave No Trace: the club is a supporter of the Leave No Trace campaign so please ensure
that you leave no litter (of any sort) on the hike route.
