Ramble Royal Canal

Route Details: Royal Canal Way from Convention Centre IFSC as far as Clonsilla.

Meeting Point: Skerries Train Station

Time: Train from Skerries on a Saturday is at 08.57 (meet 08:45am.  This allows time to buy tickets etc…)
Walk Starting point: Start of walk from the Convention Centre at 10:00am (nice 15 min walk down along the Liffey to it).

Distance: 14 km

Duration: 3.5 hours – 4hour

Leader’s Note:
The Royal Canal Way is a most interesting and pleasant walk.  Starting at Convention Centre, IFSC and we follow the Royal Canal Way past Croke Park, lovely lock systems and the spectacular Navan Road Interchange (where the N3 roundabout, the railway line and the Royal Canal cross over the M50) as far as Clonsilla where we will catch the train back to Dublin Connolly.

We will meet at Skerries Train Station at 08:45am to catch the 08:57am train to Connolly arriving at 09:34am.  A short 15 min walk from there to the starting point of the walk.  We will be starting the walk at 10am.  Pack a lunch and a drink and we can stop on the way for a break.  We will get the train back to Dublin Connolly; then onwards to Skerries.
