Leader’s Note:

This is a very pleasant undulating Easy Hillwalk along the Dublin Mountains Way (combination of roadway and forest tracks) from Shankill Village via the Ballycorus Lead Mines to The Scalp, with its commanding view, and return with great vistas along the way, inc. the fantastic 360° panoramic view from Carrickgollogan Hill (276m). Total walk time, including a quick pit stop at The Scalp, is likely to be about 3.5 hours. Note: Poles could be useful for two short stretches of the walk.

We will meet at Skerries Train Station to catch the 08.52 train to Pearse, then the 09.42 DART to Shankill, arriving 10.19. A 12 min. walk from the Station to the Village for a coffee and freshly baked scone in Brady’s Pub before heading off from their car park on the walk. Refreshments and food at the end of the walk in Brady’s for those who wish to relax after it.
