SWC North Down Coastal Path Ramble
This is a very pleasant 15km/4.5hr coastal ramble from Hollywood to Bangor with nice views of Belfast Lough and passing by lovely beaches along the way. Various attractions include: Helen’s Bay, Grey Point Fort WW2 12ft gun emplacement built to protect Belfast Lough from enemy invasion, Crawfordsburn Country Park and Bangor Marina, one of the largest in Ireland.

Walk Start Time: 12.30 Sandwich stop along the way at Helen’s Bay Beach (benches and toilets). Bring a sandwich!
Walk End Time: 17.00 Pint and bite to eat in AVA Bistro opp. Bangor Train Station

Cost (for those not on Free Travel):
Skrs – Belfast return Irish Rail €25.98
Belfast – Bangor return Translink £6.20 (€7)

Booking details:
1. Book on Irish Rail.ie – Skrs-Belfast + seat in Coach E (so we will all be to alight together) and Coach E on the return.
2. Collect ticket plus seat reservation from any station ticket machine. Free Travel holders – (a) reserve seats online and print from any ticket machine and (b) collect train ticket from any mainline station on presentation of Travel Pass. Those travelling from Dublin book the 09.30 Enterprise, and 20.05 return. Also – anyone eligible for free travel needs to get a Senior SmartPass to travel free on the Translink service from Belfast to Bangor return. Apply at your local Intreo Centre (Social Welfare) for it.
3. On arrival in Belfast we must head straight to the Ticket Office to get return tickets to Bangor before catching the Translink train to Hollywood.
Please confirm if going on the walk and train booked by Sat. 10th June, as meal in the AVA Bistro will have to be pre-ordered being a group and as somewhat limited on time. Early booking is advisable as the Enterprise can be quite busy. Any queries at all just contact the leader.
