Ramble Oldbridge to Townley Hall

Route Details: Oldbridge House to Townley Hall/King Billy’s Glen and back to Oldbridge House

Distance/Duration: 11km / 3-3.5  hours approx. including breaks

Height: 80m

Meeting Point: Oldbridge House- car park

Meeting/Walk start time: 9:45 a.m. for 10 a.m. start

Further Info: This is a Ramble. Boots and rain gear needed as it could be muddy along the canal and woods.

 Leaders Note: We will walk along the canal beside Oldbridge House, cross the Boyne and then take the lower path through Townley Hall woods. From there we will walk along the driveway to Townley Hall House. We will then pass through Colite forests and a short road walk to the top of King Billy’s Glen. It’s all downhill for the next stretch,through the forest to the Obelisk Bridge and back to Oldbridge House along the canal.

There are toilet facilities at Oldbridge House and a restaurant.  Tea and coffee is also available at the start of the driveway to Townley Hall House.

There is good parking at Oldbridge House and it is free.
